What is a champagne walker?

A champagne walker is a performer wearing a strolling table, usually as a large skirt or illuminated frame, that holds glasses of champagne, cocktails, canapés or favours. They glide through the crowd serving guests as they go.

LED versions light up a dark room and look spectacular on camera. They turn the welcome drink into the first moment of the show and work beautifully with Gatsby, Parisian and winter themes.

Where it works best

  • Welcome drinks

Serving the first glass as guests arrive.

  • Awards and galas

Glamour on arrival and between courses.

  • Christmas parties

Glowing tables in a festive room.

  • Weddings

Champagne or favours during the reception.

  • Brand launches

Serving a signature drink or sample.

  • Desserts and favours

Sweet treats or gifts later in the night.

Tips from our team

  1. 1

    Agree drinks with the venue

Most venues supply and pour the drinks. We agree how the tables are filled and topped up.

  2. 2

    Go LED for the evening

Illuminated tables are at their best once the lights go down.

  3. 3

    Clear the route

A strolling table needs space to move, so keep walkways clear during service.

Frequently asked questions

How much do champagne walkers cost in South Shields?

Every booking is quoted individually, because the price of champagne walkers depends on availability, your date, location and travel, how long you need them and your exact requirements. Send us your date and venue and we will come back with clear options. Quotes are free with no obligation.

Do you supply the champagne?

Usually the venue or caterer supplies and pours the drinks, and the performers serve them. We agree the details with your venue.

Can the tables carry food or gifts instead?

Yes. Canapés, desserts, favours and branded samples all work.

Which venues near South Shields can hold a large Asian wedding?

On our list, Rainton Meadows Arena (up to 1500 guests), Newcastle Marriott Hotel Gosforth Park (up to 600 guests) and Newcastle Marriott Hotel MetroCentre (up to 400 guests) can take 400 or more guests. Tell us your venue and numbers and we will plan champagne walkers around the space.

Do venues around South Shields have sound limits for dhol or music?

Many hotels and country houses set a sound limit or an end time, and some ask for unplugged dhol indoors. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check its rules before we confirm anything.

Which postcodes around South Shields do you cover?

All of SR6, NE29, NE30, NE32, NE33, NE34, NE35 and NE36, including Jarrow, Tynemouth, Sunderland, Whitburn, Cleadon and South Tyneside, plus the rest of Tyne and Wear and nearby Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle upon Tyne and Cramlington.

What time will the champagne walkers arrive, and how will they look?

They arrive smartly dressed and on time, usually 30 to 45 minutes before the performance, so they are ready the moment you need them. We share arrival times and a contact number with you before the day.

Are your champagne walkers vetted and insured?

Yes. Every partner is vetted by our team before they are listed. They hold public liability insurance and certificates, carry out risk assessments, and any electrical equipment they bring is PAT tested. Venues often ask for these documents and we can supply them.

How far in advance should I book champagne walkers?

For weddings and summer weekends, book as early as you can, ideally several months ahead, as the best dates go first. We can often help at short notice too, so it is always worth asking.

Do you cover South Shields and the rest of Tyne and Wear?

Yes. We book champagne walkers in South Shields, across Tyne and Wear and the whole of North East, for venues, homes and outdoor events.
