What is a living statue?
A living statue is a performer in full costume and body paint who holds perfectly still, like a sculpture, then moves at just the right moment to surprise guests. Done well, people walk past assuming it is part of the decor.
Styles include floral statues, frozen ice queens, gilded classical figures and masked Venetian looks. They work on plinths at an entrance, along a garden path, beside a bar or on an exhibition stand, and some can hold a tray of drinks or favours.
