    Solid

Thanks Sanj, super swift and very efficient booking! The dholis were both ace, super accommodating of random requests and an unorthodox set up. Everyone loved them, would book again and will recommend highly to all!

    Thank you Sanj and PC

Thank you Sanj! We booked our dhol players and mandap through party central and they we both amazing! The dhol players were bang on time, and the mandap was absolutely stunning - Sanj got them to throw in lots of little extras, and they kindly picked up some paan for us. I’ve got a super busy job and Sanj was patient, helpful and completely took the stress away from me having to speak to suppliers. We had left it quite late, and had quite tight turnaround times but he made it happen. He liased directly with my florists and coordinator so it could all be a surprise for me on the day which made it extra special. From being sceptical at the start (the first question I asked Sanj was whether they were Legit 😂) to bring so grateful at the end - I’d highly recommend.

What is a silhouette cutter?

A silhouette cutter is an artist who cuts a guest's profile freehand from black paper using only scissors and a sharp eye, usually in a couple of minutes. The finished silhouette is mounted on card for the guest to take home.

It is an old craft with a vintage charm that suits weddings, Gatsby and Parisian nights and elegant corporate events. Because each cut is quick, an artist can see a steady stream of guests, and watching it happen is part of the entertainment.

Where it works best

  • Weddings

A keepsake favour for every guest.

  • Gatsby nights

A vintage art form for a 1920s party.

  • Parisian themes

Old-world charm for a French night.

  • Corporate receptions

A personal gift guests actually keep.

  • Brand events

    Silhouettes mounted on branded card.

  • Christmas parties

A personal take-home from the night.

Tips from our team

  1. 1

    Set up in good light

A bright, even light on the guest's profile makes for a crisp silhouette.

  2. 2

    Brand the mounts

Silhouettes can be mounted on cards with your names, date or logo.

  3. 3

    Manage the queue

Place the artist where a queue will not block a walkway or the bar.

Frequently asked questions

How much do silhouette cutters cost in Leicester?

Every booking is quoted individually, because the price of silhouette cutters depends on availability, your date, location and travel, how long you need them and your exact requirements. Send us your date and venue and we will come back with clear options. Quotes are free with no obligation.

How long does each silhouette take?

Usually a couple of minutes per guest, so an artist can see a good number of guests in a session.

Can the silhouettes be personalised?

Yes. Cards can be printed with your names, date, event title or logo.

Can couples or children be cut together?

Often, yes. Ask the artist on the day, as group silhouettes take a little longer.

Which venues near Leicester can hold a large Asian wedding?

On our list, Maher Centre (up to 1200 guests), Athena Conference & Banqueting (up to 1000 guests), Welford Road Stadium – Leicester Tigers (up to 1000 guests) and The Platinum Suite (up to 1000 guests) can take 400 or more guests. Tell us your venue and numbers and we will plan silhouette cutters around the space.

Do venues around Leicester have sound limits for dhol or music?

Many hotels and country houses set a sound limit or an end time, and some ask for unplugged dhol indoors. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check its rules before we confirm anything.

Which postcodes around Leicester do you cover?

All of LE1, LE3, LE4, LE5, LE6, LE7 and LE87, including Birstall, Thurmaston, Leicester Forest East, Syston, Anstey and Rothley, plus the rest of Leicestershire and nearby Oadby, Wigston, Loughborough and Coalville.

What time will the silhouette cutters arrive, and how will they look?

They arrive smartly dressed and on time, usually 30 to 45 minutes before the performance, so they are ready the moment you need them. We share arrival times and a contact number with you before the day.

Are your silhouette cutters vetted and insured?

Yes. Every partner is vetted by our team before they are listed. They hold public liability insurance and certificates, carry out risk assessments, and any electrical equipment they bring is PAT tested. Venues often ask for these documents and we can supply them.

How far in advance should I book silhouette cutters?

For weddings and summer weekends, book as early as you can, ideally several months ahead, as the best dates go first. We can often help at short notice too, so it is always worth asking.

Do you cover Leicester and the rest of Leicestershire?

Yes. We book silhouette cutters in Leicester, across Leicestershire and the whole of East Midlands, for venues, homes and outdoor events.
