What are walkabout characters?

Walkabout characters are costumed performers who roam the event in character, chatting, posing for photos and reacting to guests. They make a theme feel real rather than just decorated.

Characters range from Gatsby partygoers and pirates to nutcrackers, jellyfish, octopus and other sea creatures, depending on your theme.

Where it works best

Tell us about your audience and the characters will adapt.
2
Mix with a showpiece

3
Plan photo spots
Characters near your backdrop make better photos.

Frequently asked questions

How much do walkabout characters cost in Southam?

Every booking is quoted individually, because the price of walkabout characters depends on availability, your date, location and travel, how long you need them and your exact requirements. Send us your date and venue and we will come back with clear options. Quotes are free with no obligation.

Do walkabout characters talk to guests?

Yes, in character. They chat, pose and react, which is what makes them memorable.

Which venues near Southam can hold a large Asian wedding?

On our list, Stoneleigh Park (up to 2000 guests), Sports Connexion (up to 1000 guests), IXL Events Centre (up to 750 guests) and British Motor Museum (up to 600 guests) can take 400 or more guests. Tell us your venue and numbers and we will plan walkabout characters around the space.

Do venues around Southam have sound limits for dhol or music?

Many hotels and country houses set a sound limit or an end time, and some ask for unplugged dhol indoors. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check its rules before we confirm anything.

Which postcodes around Southam do you cover?

All of CV47, including Bishop's Itchington, Stratford-on-Avon, Long Itchington and Stockton, plus the rest of Warwickshire and nearby Leamington Spa, Warwick, Daventry and Rugby.

What time will the walkabout characters arrive, and how will they look?

They arrive smartly dressed and on time, usually 30 to 45 minutes before the performance, so they are ready the moment you need them. We share arrival times and a contact number with you before the day.

Are your walkabout characters vetted and insured?

Yes. Every partner is vetted by our team before they are listed. They hold public liability insurance and certificates, carry out risk assessments, and any electrical equipment they bring is PAT tested. Venues often ask for these documents and we can supply them.

How far in advance should I book walkabout characters?

For weddings and summer weekends, book as early as you can, ideally several months ahead, as the best dates go first. We can often help at short notice too, so it is always worth asking.

Do you cover Southam and the rest of Warwickshire?

Yes. We book walkabout characters in Southam, across Warwickshire and the whole of West Midlands, for venues, homes and outdoor events.
